Account and Data Deletion

Users of the Who Owes Whom application can request deletion of their account and all related data at any time.

How to request account deletion

Open the app

Launch Who Owes Whom on your device.

Go to Settings

Navigate to your profile or settings menu.

Select "Delete account"

Confirm deletion to trigger the process.

Alternative request method

You can also send a deletion request directly to our support team at dev.artem.semenchenko@gmail.com. We will process your request manually within 48 hours.

What data will be removed?

When an account is deleted, the following data will be permanently removed from our active systems:

User profile info
All expense records
Groups and participation
Uploaded receipt images

Note: Some data may remain in encrypted system backups for up to 30 days before being fully purged. This is part of our standard disaster recovery procedures.

Important Considerations

Account deletion is irreversible. Once the process is complete, we cannot recover your split history, group details, or any premium features associated with the account. If you have active subscriptions through Apple or Google, please ensure you cancel them in the respective store settings, as deleting the app account may not automatically cancel the store-level billing.
